How do Ecobrand Powersavers work? Plug And Save
Solution All electrical supply is subject to surges from time to time, which result in spikes or “parasitic peaks” that cannot be used by our appliances as working power.
These spikes simply waste your electricity. Worse still, they result in the overheating, which shortens the life of your appliances and wiring. In the most extreme cases this can cause burns, blow outs and power cuts.
Our Ecobrand Powersavers use a capacitor system to stabilize the flow of electricity. It reduces the spikes in the supply, protecting against surges. The system improves the power factor of your electricity and reduces your electricity bill by on average 15% - 20%.
What’s the life-expectancy of the Ecobrand Powersaver?
Solution - We’ve yet to have any Ecobrand Powersavers returned to us and the Ecobrand Powersaver unit’s that we currently sell have been developed in the last 2 years so we have no had time to really gauge their longevity. We do however guarantee our Ecobrand Powersavers for (5) Five Years.
If you experience a significant power surge in your electrical system then there is a possibility that the Ecobrand Powersaver’s fuse will blow. We have designed all our units so that these fuses can be replaced very easily by customers without needing to return them.
Within reason, these units are built to last indefinitely. They are in a strong metal case and will likely be used in just one location without needing to be moved. They do not contain any moving parts.
As long as you keep you’re Ecobrand Powersaver in a dry temperate place, with adequate ventilation, and you should see many years of continued use with your unit.
Will the Ecobrand Powersaver work in my country?
Although not exhaustive here are a list of countries where we’ve had orders from and where we’ve received positive feedback. We believe that our Eco Powersaver supports all countries.
How long should I connect the Ecobrand Powersaver for?
Solution - It is recommended to keep your Ecobrand Powersaver plugged in permanently.
Eco Powersaver to store this electricity most efficiently and, if you unplug or power off your Ecobrand Powersaver it will take a further 2 – 3 days to return to it’s optimal state.
We suggest plugging your Ecobrand Powersaver into an unused power socket in a convenient location where you have no need to disturb it. Turn the power on, forget about it and periodically check on it to confirm that the power light is still on
What temperatures does the Ecosaver work with?
Working Temperature: 55º C to +105º C
What limitations do your Ecobrand Powersavers have?
Solution - One of the most important things to be aware of with out Ecobrand Powersavers is that they work on one circuit only.
Your electric system in your house consists of numerous independent circuits. If you can find your circuit breaker in your home then every switch represents a circuit. Generally you’ll have a circuit that powers your lights, one circuit that connects to all the plug sockets and perhaps a few others.
We have designed our Ecobrand Powersavers to plug into a plug socket and to save electricity within this circuit, or where applicable, wire into a 3 Phase Electrical Supply System.
This is a practical design because nearly all of your high-capacity appliances are plugged into this circuit. This means that whilst our Ecobrand Powersavers will significantly reduce your electricity usage for appliances such as fridges, freezers, microwaves, air conditioners, pumps, fans, motors, machines, lighting ballasts etc, it will not save electricity on circuits that do not have Power Savers connected to them. Your Eco Powersavers will NOT reduce your consumption on your appliances with elements such as Hobs, Ovens, Immersion Heaters etc and Standard Light Bulbs! Or anything with a Resistive Load IE Elements!!
How many Ecobrand Powersavers do I need?
Solution - We usually suggest one Ecobrand Powersaver will be sufficient for all types of non-industrial users however not everybody’s electrical systems are the same.
Generally there will be one circuit within a house or business that connect together all the appliances s that can be plugged in. If you’d like to double-check this you should take a look at your circuit-breaker and try to identify what each individual circuit is responsible for. For those of you, who are curious to see exactly how your home is wired up, flick each switch off individually to see if you can identify what electrical items are fed from that circuit.
You’ll certainly find that one of the circuits will be responsible for most of your large household appliances, but perhaps you’ll discover some more. You might find that your garage, shed, conservatory or perhaps a particular room has a separate circuit to others. If this is the case then you’ll need one Ecobrand Powersaver for your main circuit and one for any extra.
How much money will I save with the Ecobrand Powersaver?
Solution This is not a simple question to answer because all electrical systems, households and environments are different. The following information may be of value:-
• Developed countries with a more advanced electrical distribution network experiences less power spikes than in developing countries. We have personally experienced energy savings of 20% in Thailand and customer feedback suggests that developing countries in Africa and Asia seem to experience the largest savings.
• Customers within the USA, UK, Australia, New-Zealand and Western Europe tend to report energy savings of 15 – 20%
